Developer of Affordable Housing

     When Noah began to build the Ark, he believed he was doing it at the command of God. Likewise, when we provide food for the hungry, clothing for those who need to be clothed, drink for those who are thirsty, or shelter for those who need housing, we are doing so because God has commanded us to perform such acts of love and caring in Christ's name.
     On September 14th, Virginia United Methodists responded to God's call by dedicating the 12th residence developed by the Virginia United Methodist Development Corporation (VUMHDC) on behalf of people of low and moderate financial means. Created by the Virginia Annual Conference in 1975, VUMHDC has, for the past 30 years, sought to encourage the development of more affordable housing across the Commonwealth. And it has sought to build these projects throughout Virginia so individuals and families of low and moderate income would have adequate housing to meet their most basic of human needs.
